Our parent engagement opportunities are varied and plentiful as to answer our family's requests and needs to support their children's education. Our parent engagement opportunities are funded with with the support of our LCAP funds. Maxson Elementary School hosts a Family Math Night, as well as a Family Literacy/Art Night to support primary and upper grade needs. Our Family Common Core and Technology Classes continue in the afternoons to support our families understanding into the rigor of the standards and the SBAC. Rio Hondo College’s ESL classes are offered at Maxson, as well, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lastly, each year, our families are invited to participate in free family study trips. Our families have enjoyed visiting the Los Angeles Times Book Festival, the Huntington Library and Gardens, and the Los Angeles County's Arboretum to hear the Pasadena Pops perform. We are education partners with our families as observed in our family committees of School Site Council, English Language Advisory Committee, and Parent Action Team. We are always seeking parent volunteers to assist inside and outside of the classroom. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or participating in our parent engagement opportunities, please contact our Community Liaison Maria Chairez at (626)652-4509 for information.
