From a Strong Start to an Exciting October! 🌟🍁

Dear Maxson Families and Friends,

As we wrap up September, we want to thank our families and students for a strong start to the school year! 🌟 Currently, our attendance is at 96.19%. Together, let’s keep striving toward our 98% attendance goal — every day matters and makes a difference. Let’s keep showing up and make every day count!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Family Picnic! 🧺✨

We had such a wonderful evening filled with laughter, games, music, and community spirit. It was so nice to see families relaxing and enjoying time together. Our picnic was a success because of YOU—thank you for bringing your energy, smiles, and support!

🏁 Children’s Day Parade – October 4th! 🎉

Join us for our Children’s Day Parade on Saturday, October 4th as we celebrate this year’s theme:

Maxson on the Move! 🚗✨

Parents, it’s time to get creative! Students can become race cars by designing their own from cardboard boxes, dress up as a race car driver, or simply show school pride by wearing their Maxson T-shirt. Families are invited to come cheer on our student “drivers” as we celebrate movement, creativity, and school spirit together.

Parent Conferences-EARLY RELEASE

Parent conferences will be held on Monday, October 6, and Tuesday, October 7. Students will be released early at 1:50 p.m. on both days. Please note there will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, October 8.

To prepare for your conference, consider:

Bringing any questions you have about your child’s progress.
Talking with your child ahead of time about how they feel in class.
Thinking about ways we can work together to support learning at home.

California Great ShakeOut

Thursday, October 16, 2025

On this day, our school (along with millions across California) will participate in a statewide earthquake drill. Everyone will practice what to do during an earthquake—Drop, Cover, and Hold On—so we’re prepared, calm, and safe.

Please talk with your child about the drill beforehand and remind them it’s just a practice to keep everyone ready.

Walk to school Day - COMING SOON

Walk to School Day – Friday, October 10, 2025

Grab your walking shoes and join us for Walk to School Day! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

This is a wonderful opportunity for families to walk together, enjoy some fresh air, and start the school day in a healthy, active way. Walking to school not only builds great habits but also helps create a safer, more connected community.

Let’s fill the sidewalks with smiles and school spirit—see you on the walk!

Unity Day – Wednesday, October 22 🧡

Join us in standing together for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion! On Unity Day, we encourage all students and staff to wear orange to show that we are united against bullying. Together, we can create a safe and supportive school where everyone belongs.

Red Ribbon Week is Coming! ❤️🎀

Join us in celebrating Red Ribbon Week, October 23–31! This week is all about making healthy choices and showing our commitment to being drug-free. Each day will have fun activities and themes to help spread the message. Let’s work together to support our students in making positive choices for their future!

Our school library is open daily afterschool until 3:30 PM.

Students must sign in when they arrive.
They can return and check out books.
Space is available to complete homework.
Students may also take AR tests.
Please remind your child to return books on time so everyone can enjoy them.
